ADJUSTING GAS SPRING ROCE INSTRUCTION SETP 4

STEP 4

Gently tap the rod to release gas. Each gentle short tap will allow a small of gas to escape. Each time the ball valve is opening you will hear the sound of escaping gas (it is best to carry out this procedure in a quiet environment).

Please note that the force required to open the valve the first time is always greater than the following hits.

It is possible to press the valve with the palm of your hand, however the hits will be much more repeatable, precise and short if you use a small hammer.

Some gas springs have a very small volume of nitrogen at high pressure. On the smaller size 6 and 8 gas springs, a long hit may reduce the force by up to 20 newtons, which could represent a very high change if the gas springs are charged at low force.
