In automotive paint lines, hoods and hatches are typically counterbalanced with Gas Springs. Unfortunately, the painting process introduces excessive debris to the Gas Spring seals. It also exposes springs to excessively high temperatures. 

These environmental factors often lead Gas Springs to fail prematurely.
